Job description

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

Technical Director II, PQI Technology

At Electronic Arts, Player & Quality Insights (PQI) is transforming how we deliver quality, insights, and player experiences at scale. Technology is central to this transformation, enabling faster decisions, scalable quality, and new pathways to player and market growth.

As Technical Director II for PQI, you will define and lead the technology strategy that powers our end-to-end player and platform insights, quality, and certification ecosystem. You will drive the adoption of AI, automation, and scalable platforms to accelerate insight to impact, improve player experiences, and unlock efficiency across EA’s portfolio.

You will operate as an enterprise technology leader, partnering across the PQI and Quality, Verification and Standards (QVS) organizations to align strategy, prioritize investments, and deliver measurable business impact.

Core Responsibilities

  • Define and Drive PQI Technology Strategy

Own and execute PQI’s technology vision aligned to the PQI strategic pillars. Create a clear roadmap and success metrics across AI, automation, data, and platforms that accelerate decision‑making and scale quality across the portfolio.

  • Engineering Practices

Elevate engineering best practices, product quality, and release readiness to deliver measurable business impact.

  • Lead AI and Automation Transformation

Drive adoption of AI technologies, including LLMs, computer vision, and agentic systems to automate workflows, enhance quality validation, and unlock efficiency at scale.

  • Technical Integration & Impact

Act as the connective layer between technology, insights, standards, and operations. Align roadmaps, integrate systems, and ensure technology investments directly support studio outcomes, player experience, and business impact.

  • Enable a Scalable Operating Model

Partner with Tech Operations and PQI leadership to ensure strong delivery governance, resource planning, and operational cadence. Drive predictable execution and measurable outcomes across all technology initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Proven strategic leadership of engineering teams, with a track record of defining and delivering multi‑year strategies.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, platform development, or technical systems, with significant leadership experience
  • Proven track record in building and scaling platforms, data systems, or AI‑driven solutions in complex environments
  • Experience driving technology strategy and execution across multiple teams or products
  • Strong expertise in system architecture, cloud platforms, data systems, and modern engineering practices
  • Experience applying AI, automation, or data‑driven systems to real‑world business problems
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear business impact and strategic direction
  • Strong cross‑functional leadership across product, analytics, operations, and creative teams
