Nursing Services Aide

Yee Hong is one of the foremost providers of culturally appropriate senior care in the country delivering high-quality resident experience and care to Chinese and other Asian seniors since 1994. The organization operates 805 long-term care beds and 308 seniors apartment units with an additional 224 long-term care beds opening in a new home by June 2026. In addition Yee Hong offers four campuses of managed care a hospice residence and a wide range of community-based senior and caregiver support services. Through this comprehensive network the organization serves more than 15000 individuals annually across the Greater Toronto Area.

Nursing Services Aide
sponsored by the Government of Canada as per the Canada Summer Jobs Program (CSJ) 2026 initiative.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists in establishing a system of retention and maintenance of residents records and chart audits in compliance with legislation

• Supports Infection Prevention and Control Program including hand hygiene audits chart audits of resident immunization history etc.

• Assists in planning preparing and implementing quality improvement programs. Performs audit data entry generation of reports. Analyses and evaluates data and prepares presentation of program outcome

• Performs mask fit testing

• Assist with care plan audits

• Provides general administrative support to the Nursing department

Contract Length: 8 weeks

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week

Rate: $17.60/hour

Qualifications:

• Must be between the ages of 15-30 years of age at the start of the job

• Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally able to work in Ontario

• Be a Canadian citizen permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment and legally entitled to work in Canada

• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal organizational and customer service skills

• Proven demonstrated initiative

• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office)

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to work remotely as required

• Previous experience working with the elderly population an asset

• Good oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of Chinese Japanese or a South-Asian language required for some positions

• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
