Job Description
The - Saskatoon and the , Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seek two Obstetrician Gynecologist specialists with fellowship training in either Urogynecology, advanced pelvic surgery, or minimally invasive surgery to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient, outpatient and community clinical and academic care in a multidisciplinary team.
- Full-time gynecology practice; optional prenatal care and obstetrical call.
- Participate in complex gynecologic surgeries (e.g. large masses, placenta accreta spectrum).
- Perform at least two surgical approaches (laparoscopic/hysteroscopic, vaginal, or open).
- Take part in general gynaecology on-call duties; potential future complex gynaecology call service.
- Mentor junior colleagues and support advanced pelvic surgery assistance.
- Actively teach residents and support research activities.
Appointments with the Saskatchewan Health Authority and the University of Saskatchewan. The program supports ~5,700 deliveries/year, a busy gynaecologic surgery service and a Women's Health Centre for outpatient procedures. A Pelvic Floor Pathway provides physiotherapy, counselling and pessary services within a nurse-practitioner model.

Provides 24/7 services with the following features:
- Single Room Maternal Care: 49 private rooms and 3 operating rooms
- Prenatal Unit: 8 private rooms
- Maternal Assessment: 8 private rooms
- Maternal Fetal Unit: 3 exam rooms and 2 consult rooms
- Maternal Outpatient Department: 5 exam rooms
Virtual Tour: Gynecology is based at Saskatoon City hospital:
- Operating rooms that serve the bulk of non-cancer gynecologic care – 2-3 rooms/day
- The Pelvic Floor pathway
- Women’s Health Centre – outpatient minor procedures under RN led sedation
- Early Pregnancy Program – complications of early pregnancy, pregnancy termination clinic
- Ambulatory Care unit with a cystoscopy suite and urodynamic testing
- Colposcopy - at the WHC if this is a desired area of practice
Job Qualifications
Candidates must hold certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology with the and be eligible for licensure with the . Training in either Urogynecology, advanced pelvic surgery, or minimally invasive surgery is required.
