Job Purpose :
The Director, Learning & Development is responsible for improving the productivity of Acera’s employees and ensuring that National Standards are upheld across the organization.
This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees.
This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance.
Responsibilities
- Using the understanding of the business needs to create, execute, and oversee national learning strategies and programs
- Evaluate individual and organizational development needs
- Implement various learning methods companywide ( coaching, job-shadowing, online training)
- Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities
- Hire and oversee National L&D Specialists, while working in close partnership with Regional leaders and L&D specialists
- Foster two-way communication and collaboration with Regional L&D teams, taking a train-the-trainer approach where applicable
- Develop and maintain organizational communications such as the intranet to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
- Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
- Organizes and supports training for new initiatives such as new software systems and tools
- Contributes to the development and roll-out of Acera best practices across all business units
- Organizes and leads training for new partner integrations, in partnership with regional stakeholders
Requirements and skills
- Proven past experience in insurance as a Learning & Development leader
- Current knowledge of effective adult learning and development methods
- Experience in project management
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; sharp business acumen
- Ability to build rapport with
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
