Join our Clinical Trials Unit and help lead the future of cancer care! We are seeking dedicated oncology nurses with current Connect Care, and clinical trials experience who want to expand their knowledge in a dynamic research environment. In this role, you will support the unit’s Connect Care protocol development process and the coordination of clinical trials. Responsibilities can include templating clinical trials and participating in validations, helping to identify eligible study participants, obtaining informed consent, and executing study visits—including patient assessments, adverse event reviews, and safety monitoring. You may administer cancer treatments, perform blood collections, and conduct ECG monitoring as needed. You will support data collection and maintain source documentation according to strict ICH/GCP guidelines, complete operational approvals, assist with Research Ethics Board applications, and help prepare for Health Canada, FDA, and Sponsor audits. As a central point of contact, you will seamlessly liaise between patients, families, healthcare teams, and study monitors or sponsors. This on-site position features a primary assignment with our Connect Care team but also provides occasional clinical support within the wider unit. Flexibility is essential, as all positions within the unit may assist other groups or be reassigned as operational needs evolve. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $ to $ per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article or (ii), as applicable.
Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, you must complete the following free courses: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4), available at and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification, available at
Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Current Connect Care experience (Beacon preferred) - understanding of the treatment protocol/therapy plan build process is especially desired. Baccalaureate preparation. Clinical trials membership or certification (, SoCRA, ACRP). Preference will be given to those with O-PREP oncology training.
