Reuse Equipment Redeployment
Support and execute the refurbishment, tracking, and redeployment of used capital equipment across multiple plants and programs, ensuring cost‑effective reuse, schedule adherence, technical compatibility, and financial accountability.
Technical & Engineering Capability
- Strong understanding of industrial automation and manufacturing equipment including robots, weld timers, weld guns, control panels, PLCs, EOAT, and safety systems
- Ability to evaluate equipment condition, refurbishment scope, and reuse feasibility based on age, configuration, and application fit
- Experience working with OEMs and integrators (e.g., FANUC or equivalent) on quotes, refurbishment scopes, upgrades, and technical clarifications
- Knowledge of equipment configuration differences (MH vs SW, pedestal vs carry, controller generations, networking upgrades, safety builds) and how they impact reuse decisions
Project Management & Coordination
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent redeployment projects across different plants, vendors, and timelines
- Coordinate end‑of‑life teardowns, refurbishment activities, shipping, and reintegration into new programs or plants
- Track milestones, risks, and dependencies related to timing, refurbishment lead times, border delays, and missing components
- Comfortable driving actions across engineering, plants, purchasing, finance, and vendors
Logistics, Shipping & Customs
- Experience coordinating plant‑to‑plant and vendor shipping, including refurbishment locations, integrators, and receiving plants
- Understanding of customs, border documentation, and shipping cost ownership for cross‑border equipment transfers
- Ability to plan asset movements to minimize plant disruption and align with production schedules
Financial & Commercial Acumen
- Ability to review, challenge, and align refurbishment and upgrade quotes with internal value expectations
- Experience working with purchase orders, amendments, approvals, and purchasing constraints
- Understanding of capital accounting concepts such as net book value, asset transfers, and cost ownership
- Ability to support new business quoting by identifying reuse opportunities, estimating refurbishment costs, and validating technical compatibility
Data, Systems & Reporting
- Strong skills in Excel and structured data management for tracking assets, costs, timing, and program assignments
- Experience maintaining and improving an asset database with detailed technical, financial, and status fields
- Ability to generate management‑level reports, dashboards, and presentations summarizing reuse availability, savings, risks, and forecasts
- Familiarity with Power BI, Power Platform, and Microsoft 365 tools to automate tracking and reporting
Process, Governance & Standardization
- Experience developing, implementing, and enforcing standard procedures for equipment decommissioning, refurbishment, and redeployment
- Ability to define roles, responsibilities, and financial ownership between corporate, plants, and programs
- Comfortable acting as the single point of contact for reuse‑related issues and escalations
- Strong documentation discipline to reduce ambiguity and prevent repeat issues
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Ability to communicate effectively with plant engineering, maintenance, finance, purchasing, vendors, and senior leadership
- Comfortable presenting reuse strategies, metrics, and savings to management and executive audiences
- Able to challenge assumptions diplomatically while protecting business outcomes
Optional / High‑Value Additions
- Prior experience in manufacturing engineering, maintenance leadership, or capital project execution
- Exposure to multi‑plant or global operations
