About this opportunity:

Cenovus is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Advisor/Technologist to join our Calgary-based Regulatory Compliance team. This group plays an essential role in supporting compliance activities that enable responsible operations across our Western Canadian asset base.

In this role, you will support operational and corporate compliance activities across our sites in Western Canada. You must be able to build effective working relationships within the compliance team, across Cenovus groups involved in compliance activities, and with our regulators in Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. You will have strong organizational skills to prioritize concurrent deadlines, manage work of varying complexity, and support timely, well‑documented regulatory submissions.

What you’ll do:

  • Compliance submissions: Track, enter and maintain incoming inspection, investigation, audit and non-compliance events in the tracking system. Work with internal teams to coordinate response submissions to regulators. Liaise with regulators as required.

  • Canada Energy Regulator compliance support: Provide support for CER inspections and audits. Track and coordinate annual CER compliance submissions. With support, lead the execution of the CER triennial audit program.

  • Data, metrics and trends: Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for compliance and waste tracking data. Prepare recurring and ad hoc compliance statistics reports and summarize trends for senior leaders and executives.

  • Systems and processes: Manage shared mailboxes, regulatory correspondence filing, and user access for compliance systems. Author and update work instructions, processes and procedures in support of regulatory compliance.

  • Collaborate across teams: Build and maintain productive relationships with colleagues to enable collaboration on shared responsibilities and for adequate vacation coverage. Build and maintain productive, solution-oriented relationships and represent Cenovus in meetings with key regulators.

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legal authority to work in Canada

  • Post-secondary degree or technologist diploma in engineering, environmental sciences or a related field.

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a regulatory role, with strong knowledge of oil and gas industry regulations across Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.

  • Proven experience in data analysis, trend identification, and dashboard development, including Power BI.

  • Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and technical writing skills, particularly in preparing regulatory correspondence.

We acknowledge the value of transferable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.

Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT June 1st, 2026
