A top-tier electrical contractor in the West GTA is looking to add a strong leader to their estimating team. With continued growth planned through 2026/2027, this is a great opportunity for someone who’s ready to step into a Chief Electrical Estimator role or take the next step if they’re already in it.
They’re looking for someone who’s career‑minded, motivated to grow, and wants to play a key role in the company’s success. The right person will bring a practical, solutions‑focused approach to estimating, be comfortable leading and mentoring others, and have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
Attention to detail is key, along with the ability to think strategically and support the team in winning and delivering work. We’ll also provide ongoing support and development to help the right person grow into broader leadership responsibilities over time.
Requirements
- 10+ years of electrical construction estimating experience.
- 5+ years in a senior or supervisory estimating role.
- Demonstrated experience managing simultaneous, high‑value, complex bids.
- Expert understanding of construction means and methods, budgeting, scheduling, and preconstruction processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide teams.
- Significant design‑build and design assist estimating experience.
- Advanced skills with Accubid Anywhere, Bluebeam, MS Projects a plus.
- Strong vendor and subcontractor relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage the estimating team.
- Oversee all aspects of the estimating process.
- Review and approve all major bids and conceptual budgets.
- Develop department standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Manage preconstruction budgets and conceptual estimates.
- Support executive leadership in revenue forecasting.
- Build and maintain strong industry relationships.
- Oversee drawing reviews and bid document management.
- Attend job walks, pre‑bid meetings, and client presentations.
- Facilitate smooth project handoffs to operations.
- Actively contribute to a positive team environment.
- Demonstrate dependability with regular attendance and compliance to scheduled work hours.
- Demonstrate an aptitude for learning, goal‑oriented mindset for continual growth, with a "Can-Do" positive attitude.
- Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager.
