Production Operator

Currently we have an opening for a Production Operator. This position is responsible for the production operations, including assembly, machinery, processing and/or packaging.

What you will be doing
- Under general direction, responsible for the setup, calibration, and operation of machines used in production processes.
- Follows established procedures for operating various conventional and/or CNC (computerized numerical control) manufacturing equipment.
- Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing.
- Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery, processing and/or packaging operations.
- Inspects machining operations and finished product against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools.
- Determines and corrects minor machine malfunctions and performs simple routine maintenance and cleaning.
- Safety and housekeeping (5S) requirements. Contribute to the manufacturing of components and finished.
- General labour.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Environmental Health and Safety
- Comply with safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.
- Maintain orderly work area and ensure housekeeping requirements are met.
- Attend Environmental, Health and Safety related trainings.
- Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) assigned for each task.
Required Competencies:
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
- Previous related experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Ability to communicate effectively using the spoken word in English
- Ability to read and understand basic instructions provided in written or drawing form
- Good mathematical skills, ability to accurately read/understand a tape measure (metric/standard)
- Understanding of common workplace safety and environment practices
- Ability to meet attendance/punctuality requirements
- Ability to work shift-work
- Physical ability to continually handle objects weighing up to 20 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate forklift would be an asset.
Education:
- Grade 12 Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
