Quadient’s new strategy, “Back to Growth”, was launched in January 2019 and aims to expand and grow while accelerating our transformation by 2022. The Legal department, as part of the global Transformation department, is expanding to support the company strategy and new organization. NORAM is one of the five geographical regions within the Legal team. The operations team is organized around three main Business Lines: Mail (Mailing Related Solutions), Digital (Intelligent Communication Automation) and Lockers (Parcel Locker Solutions).
Key Accountabilities
Reporting to the Team Lead, Legal Director for all Regional Counsel globally, the Legal Counsel, Mail NORAM will be primarily responsible for the first level of legal support for the Mail business team in the USA and Canada, support the Legal Director as needed on other matters and work collaboratively with the broader legal team on legal projects.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements for the Mail business lines, especially hardware sale and leasing agreements as well as software agreements, and also dealer, reseller, partnership and non‑disclosure agreements.
- Provide general commercial legal support to the Sales team.
- Conduct legal monitoring and internal trainings for commercial and operational teams.
- Contribute to implementing and developing company policies and procedures in the sales space at a solution level in NORAM, and advise internal clients on a broad array of issues and risks to ensure compliance with company policies and the law.
Required Qualifications
- US qualified with demonstrable experience of contract law (3‑5 years QPE).
- Strong experience with hardware and leasing agreements.
- Good knowledge of software agreements.
- Extensive experience with internationally operating companies as an in‑house counsel.
- Multi‑jurisdictional experience is a plus.
- Contentious experience (handling non‑payment issues) is a plus.
- Excellent drafting and negotiating skills.
- Autonomous, dynamic with entrepreneurial spirit.
- Proactive and self‑confident mindset.
- Resilient and calm under pressure with strong business acumen.
- Ability to seek and find solutions with an analytic & pragmatic approach.
- Capable of coordinating effective stakeholder engagement and advising senior stakeholders on legal risk.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a professional positive attitude allowing effective interaction with many people of varying levels of responsibility, background and culture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluent in writing and speaking English.
- Experience supporting global or multinational organizations.
- Background in technology, SaaS, or mail/communications industries.
- Familiarity with securities compliance, financing transactions, or M&A activities.
- Experience with privacy frameworks and evolving data protection regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross‑functional projects.
- Some travel within the USA may be required.
