EBCis currently seeking candidates for Project Manager roles in theVancouver and Lower Mainland BC regions for large civil projectswhich will start in Spring2024.

Asa Project Manager at EBC you will responsiblefor :

  • Reviewtender documents the estimate to determine the scope of workincluding scheduling and projectplanning;
  • Responsiblefor having a thorough and complete knowledge and understanding ofthe tender documents drawings specifications addendums and toassist the Site Superintendent in achieving the projectsuccess;
  • Provideleadership and to establish and maintain effective and harmoniousrelationships with clients staff subcontractors consultants andworkers;
  • InformSenior Project Manager of project development and discuss methodsplanned to meet schedule andbudget;
  • Ordercritical material with suppliers in collaboration with theSuperintendent;
  • Performquantity tracking and cost coding for purposes of productivityanalysis and accurate costforecasting;
  • Preparedaily reports related to the crew progress andissues;
  • Planningand monitoring the appointedprojects;
  • Providedocument control for correspondence submittals RFI s NCRetc.
  • Assistin the preparation of final records for the project includingasbuilt;
  • Organizeand participate in variousmeetings;
  • Establishand keep necessary communications between suppliers subcontractorsprofessionals and theclient;
  • Assistin carrying out a variety of basic field duties at the job siterelated to generalconstruction;
  • Extensivetraveling is to beexpected;
  • Thisjob has potential and promotionopportunities.
  • Conductdaily site inspections and audits to identify compliance withexpected practices and look for opportunities forimprovement.
  • Providesafetyrelated information to Management asrequired.
  • Auditto monitor for compliance and / or deliver general orientation forall newworkers.
  • Whenconducting daily site inspections identify hazards and suggestcontrols related to the various jobs procedures equipment andcontaminants or particular situations.
  • Recommendappropriate means of accident and incident prevention tosuperintendent related to corrective actionsrequired.
  • Assistin the development of project emergency response / evacuation plansspecific for the Project.
  • Provideinput to help resolve problems related to a specificconcern.
  • Participatein official inquiries by Government Officials according toestablished rules and provide projects with guidance to comply withorders
  • Counselmanagement (superintendent foreman) on the steps to take to meettherequirements.
  • Participatein the creation of project specific standards methods and safetyprocedures.
  • Ensurethe application and the followup of the OHS Management Program onsite.
  • Maintaincontact with workers and provide support to enable them to developa positive safety culture on theirprojects.
  • Ensureconsistency in expected safety performance on projects and verifythat the progressive discipline system is being fairly andconsistently applied on allprojects.

Requirements

  • Degreein Civil Engineering or Construction Management or CivilEngineeringTechnology;
  • Relatedjob experience of 710 years in construction projectmanagement;
  • Previouswork experience in Civil Engineering Construction including bridgesinfrastructure tunneling water / sewer and / or heavy civilconstruction isrequired;
  • Advancedskills in communication and problemsolving;
  • Initiativeandleadership;
  • Excellentknowledge of MS Office MS Project andBluebeam;
  • Strongorganizational skills with the ability tomultitask;
  • Advancedskills in management negotiation communication andproblemsolving;
  • Attentionto detail and problemsolvingskills;
  • Excellenttime management skills and ability to prioritizework;
  • Mustbe willing to work on various project sites within theregion.

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or CivilEngineering Technology; Related job experience of 7-10 years inconstruction project management;
  • Previous work experience in CivilEngineering Construction, including bridges, infrastructure,tunneling, water / sewer, and / or heavy civil construction isrequired;
  • Advanced skills in communication and problem solving;Initiative and leadership; Excellent knowledge of MS Office, MSProject and Bluebeam;
  • Strong organizational skills with the abilityto multi-task; Advanced skills in management, negotiation,communication, and problem-solving;

Attention to detail andproblem-solving skills; Excellent time management skills andability to prioritize work; Must be willing to work on variousproject sites within the region.
