Join us as a Desk Appraiser – Building Damage at Aviva Canada, where you will assess and quantify building damage, support emergency mitigation, and coordinate repairs in alignment with industry standards.

What You’ll Do

• Support the Adjuster in creating building damage estimates for claims less than $250,000.
• Assess building damages using provided scopes and complete estimates in Xactimate and other virtual tools.
• Provide technical expertise on property damage.
• Conduct virtual and on‑site inspections to ensure compliance with internal guidelines and quality standards.
• Stay current on emerging construction practices, standards, and materials.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with specialists, engineers, and project management staff to establish positive working relationships.
• Assist with dispute resolution when required.
• Recommend construction and unit cost solutions as necessary.
