About the Role
The team is seeking an experienced Application Analyst to support enterprise application management, ITSM modernization, service delivery optimization, and judicial technology operations.
Reporting to the Director of Application Management & Data Services, this role will serve as a critical liaison between judiciary stakeholders, court operations, vendors, and technical delivery teams. The ideal candidate will combine strong expertise in ITSM, ServiceNow/Jira workflows, application support, data platform coordination, stakeholder engagement, business analysis, and operational service management.
This role is ideal for professionals experienced in highly regulated enterprise environments such as Government, Legal, Healthcare, Financial Services, or compliance-driven organizations.
Key Responsibilities
IT Service Management & Operational Modernization
• Lead the transition from legacy support processes to standardized ITSM frameworks leveraging platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira
• Design and improve workflows for:
– Incident Management
– Change Management
– Service Requests
– Release Coordination
• Coordinate major incidents impacting court operations and ensure timely stakeholder communication and resolution management
• Support operational service delivery and technology standardization initiatives across the CTS portfolio
Application Management & Business Analysis
• Gather and document complex business and judicial requirements from Justices, court staff, and operational stakeholders
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and support operational delivery teams
• Oversee vendor-delivered services and ensure SLA, compliance, and quality expectations are met
• Develop and maintain knowledge bases, process documentation, workflows, and user support materials
Data Governance & Cloud Platform Support
• Support secure application operations and ensure compliance with judicial confidentiality and regulatory requirements
• Provide functional support for enterprise data platforms including Snowflake, reporting tools, and data warehouse environments
• Coordinate application and data migrations between environments and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS
• Support user access audits, reporting integrity, and cloud/data governance activities
Reporting, Testing & Continuous Improvement
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning, coordination, execution, and monitoring activities
• Develop executive reports, dashboards, and analytics supporting CTS operational decision-making
• Analyze existing workflows and recommend process improvements for service stability, scalability, and resiliency
• Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning initiatives
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
• One of the following qualifications is required:
– University Degree in Information Technology or related field + 3 years of Application Analyst experience
– 2-Year Diploma + 5 years of Application Analyst experience
– 1-Year Certificate + 6 years of Application Analyst experience
– OR 7 years of direct Application Analyst experience
• 10+ years of experience planning and monitoring User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities
• 14+ years of experience with ServiceNow or alternative ticket management systems supporting Incident, Change, and Service Request Management
• 12+ years of experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments supporting application development, enhancements, and operational support
• 10+ years of experience in highly regulated environments such as Government, Healthcare, Legal, Finance, Security, Privacy, or Compliance-driven organizations
• 10+ years of experience with:
– ITSM Processes
– Technology Standardization
– Service Delivery Operations
– Documentation & Workflow Design
– Jira / ServiceNow Administration
• 10+ years of experience with Data & Cloud Literacy
• 10+ years of experience supporting Data Warehouses and Reporting Tools
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across diverse technical and business teams
Preferred Skills
• Experience supporting judicial or public-sector technology environments
• Familiarity with Azure, AWS, Snowflake, and cloud-based application services
• Experience supporting enterprise IT modernization or digital transformation initiatives
• Knowledge of disaster recovery, continuity planning, and operational resiliency strategies
Work Environment & Additional Details
• Work Location: John E. Brownlee Building, 10365 97 St, Edmonton, Alberta
• Schedule: Monday–Friday | 08:15 AM – 4:30 PM MST
• Work must be performed from within Canada
• This role is anticipated to be fully onsite
• Standard criminal background check required prior to onboarding
