Job descriptionPosition Description: We are seeking a First Year Apprentice Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic to join our team in Calgary, AB. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration and air conditioning systems in commercial and industrial settings. The ideal candidate should possess a mechanical aptitude, positive attitude, willingness to learn and grow as a professional, and a commitment to ensuring the efficient functioning of Refrigeration and HVAC systems. Responsibilities: - Install, inspect, and maintain various refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including split systems, rooftop units, chillers, and ventilation systems. - Diagnose and repair malfunctions or defects in equipment, components, or systems using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment. - Perform routine maintenance tasks in accordance with Apex Refrigeration policies and procedures. - Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute installation or repair projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. - Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime. - Use CRM software to document repair information, equipment information, complete safety documentation, and log time for payroll. - Receive and execute instructions from job leads and supervisors. - Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients, addressing concerns, and explaining technical information in a clear manner. - Adhere to company policies and procedures. - Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained. - Drive and maintain a service vehicle. Minimum Qualifications: At a minimum, an applicant must possess the following qualifications and attributes: - Eligible to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Valid Work Visa) - Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent with acceptable abstract - Acceptable Criminal Record Check - Strong mechanical aptitude, work ethic, and positive attitude - Ability to work independently with effective time management - Ability to perform the physical tasks of the position, including but not limited to: lifting objects, climbing ladders, working in restricted spaces, and working at heights - Ability to safely operate a service vehicle - Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to service calls after hours, on weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications: - Indentured Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic - Province of Alberta - asset but not mandatory - Prior experience/certification in another building trade (Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, etc.) - asset but not mandatory - Valid safety certificates (First Aid, Fall Protection, TDG, etc.) - asset but not mandatory Thank you for your interest in employment with Apex Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating Ltd.
