Job descriptionLocation: Markham, ON Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite Only candidates legally eligible to work in Canada without the need for visa sponsorship will be contacted Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Resiliency Specialist to join our client in Markham, Ontario. This role is responsible for managing and enhancing the company’s Business Resiliency Program, ensuring operations can effectively respond to disruptions and continue with minimal business impact. This position will work closely with operations, technology, security, and business stakeholders to strengthen business continuity, disaster recovery readiness, risk management, and compliance practices. Key Responsibilities Business Resiliency / Continuity - Manage day-to-day Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) activities - Develop, maintain, and improve business continuity and disaster recovery plans - Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIA) and risk assessments - Identify program gaps and recommend remediation strategies - Coordinate and lead DR testing, tabletop exercises, and emergency communication drills - Support incident response, crisis escalation, and recovery readiness activities - Lead stakeholder meetings and provide regular program status updates - Maintain documentation, metrics, reports, and continuous improvement initiatives - Ensure alignment with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and service commitments Compliance / Client Support - Support internal and external audits - Assist with client questionnaires, attestations, and resiliency requests - Coordinate periodic recovery testing with internal and external stakeholders - Help align service expectations such as RTO / RPO with established recovery capabilities Operational Support - Assist with controlled processes, inventories, documentation, and audit readiness - Support business-critical operational procedures and internal controls - Maintain accurate records and process documentation Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Operational Resilience, or related fields - Strong understanding of BIA, RTO, RPO, risk assessments, and recovery planning - Experience coordinating DR testing, exercises, or resiliency programs - Familiarity with audits, controls, compliance, and documentation standards - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills - Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) - Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities PlanIT is an equal opportunity employer.
