The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary engineering efforts, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Technical Oversight
- Serve as the technical lead during the design phase and primary contact for technical inquiries during construction and commissioning.
- Manage engineering scope, schedule, and budget in alignment with overall project goals, including coordination of engineering resources to support project execution.
- Coordinate and provide technical oversight for work carried out by external consultants and internal engineering resources.
- Engage with stakeholders across departments and site teams to align project objectives and expectations.
- Coordinate and lead design reviews with site personnel and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and feasibility.
Engineering & Design Coordination
- Lead and support engineers and designers across disciplines to produce project deliverables.
- Support procurement activities including tender document preparation, proposal evaluation, and post-award technical guidance.
- Coordinate vendor design reviews, shop inspections, final acceptance testing, and review of turnover documentation.
- Contribute to project planning and funding requests through engineering estimates and material takeoffs.
Project Execution & Monitoring
- Monitor project progress and provide regular reporting on engineering activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with planning commissioning and construction activities.
- Support construction and commissioning activities as the primary technical contact across projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineering registration with APEGS required; PEO registration in Ontario considered an asset.
- 8+ years of engineering experience, preferably within industrial or mining environments.
- Proven track record managing engineering components of capital projects.
- Demonstrated experience working within project-focused environments.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in engineering design and project management is considered an asset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and multiple locations.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
- Experience coordinating with external consultants, vendors, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of applicable engineering codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Experience supporting procurement activities, including tender preparation, proposal evaluations, and technical reviews.
- Ability to manage engineering scope, schedules, budgets, and project deliverables.
- Experience supporting construction, commissioning, troubleshooting, and project execution activities.
