The Opportunity We are looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) based in Calgary to spearhead our growth in Alberta. This role is pivotal in driving customer acquisition by managing inbound leads, converting them into clients, and proactively generating outbound opportunities. Key Responsibilities Lead Conversion & Relationship Building - Engage and nurture inbound leads, guiding them through the sales funnel and converting them into active clients. - Build strong, trust-based relationships with NRIs and Global Indians across Alberta. Outbound Business Development - Identify new business opportunities through proactive outreach, networking, and partnerships. - Expand Remittor’s presence by targeting key communities, associations, and industry events. Revenue Growth & Market Expansion - Achieve and exceed sales targets by developing and executing regional growth strategies. - Provide insights on customer needs and market trends to shape product offerings and go-to-market strategies. Collaboration & Reporting - Work closely with the marketing, product, and customer success teams to ensure a seamless client journey. - Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular reports on lead conversions, pipeline status, and revenue forecasts. Brand Representation and Outreach - Represent the company in your defined territory - Promote Remittor’s service both offline and online - Participate in company seminars, webinars, and events What We’re Looking For - Proven 3-6 years of experience in business development, sales, or relationship management (preferably in fintech, financial services, retail banking or wealth management). - Strong ability to convert inbound leads and execute effective outbound prospecting. - Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, with a client-first mindset. - Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment. - Knowledge of NRI/Global Indian financial needs/diaspora is mandatory. - Willingness to travel within Eastern Canada for client meetings, networking, and events. - Strong communication skills in English, Hindi or other Indian regional languages required.
