Our project portfolio consists of multiple institutional and commercial building types that are designed with a contemporary approach and technical accuracy. Salter Pilon Architecture has a position available for a highly motivated, outgoing, and proactive Office Controller. Candidates should exhibit exemplary communication and organizational skills, with the ability to take initiative, prioritize daily tasks and have a strong ability to take charge and meet tight deadlines. Intermediate Architectural Technologist Responsibilities • Work closely with lead architects and designers to produce Schematic Design, Design Development, and Contract Documents • Communicate with project consultants and engineers to progress design changes and coordination • Coordinate design activities and participate in meetings with consultants and engineers as required • Coordinate with lead designer to meet project deadlines, achieve goals, and review drawings for deficiencies • Complete OBC analysis on projects as required • Coordinate with lead designer to review drawings and specifications for deficiencies • Assist in converting design proposals into permit drawings for submission to municipalities • Support contract administrators during the construction phase • Prepare and submit rezoning, site plan, building permit, ministry, and other authority submission packages • Complete working drawings with full consultant coordination for tendering Skills • Experience with institutional building design in Ontario; exposure to educational, healthcare, recreation centres, multi-use residential, and first responder facilities is an asset • Diploma in Architectural Technology or equivalent Bachelor’s degree • Proficiency in the latest versions of Revit and BIM 360 • Strong understanding of building systems, construction procedures, OBC (with a focus on Part 3 buildings), and relevant city by-laws/regulations • Solid understanding of the architectural contract administration process • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to evaluate building materials and design features • Technical knowledge of Part 3 construction • Ability to produce full architectural drawing sets in Revit • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively • Experience with complex consultant coordination and contributing to contract document development • Experience with site construction administration and general review • Familiarity with project delivery methods including Stipulated Sum, Construction Management, and Design Build • Strong understanding of project schedules and ability to deliver within set milestones Qualifications • Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or a related field • 7+ years of relevant experience in an architectural or design firm • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD • Experience with rendering programs is an asset • Valid Class G driver’s licence with access to a personal vehicle
