As we continue to grow as a company, we are looking for a dynamic professional to join our Construction team in the role of Project Manager. Position Summary The Senior Project Manager, Construction is responsible for leading residential and mixed-use construction projects, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to Alabaster Construction’s quality standards. This role oversees project planning, procurement, contract administration, budgeting, scheduling, consultant coordination, and construction execution across multiple projects or one large-scale development. The Senior Project Manager will lead internal project teams including Project Managers, Project Coordinators, consultants, and trade partners, while providing regular reporting to senior leadership on project performance, risk, budget, and schedule. This role is best suited for an experienced construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced developer-builder environment and can confidently manage competing priorities across both office and site operations. Core Duties & Responsibilities Project Delivery - Lead the successful execution of multifamily and mixed-use projects from preconstruction through occupancy and warranty. - Oversee one large-scale project or multiple concurrent projects depending on project complexity and business needs. - Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards. - Identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies. Preconstruction & Procurement - Support budgeting exercises through cost estimating, scope analysis, take-offs, and coordination with third-party cost consultants. - Review and manage project budgets against approved proformas and identify cost-saving opportunities where appropriate. - Lead tendering processes to ensure competitive pricing and alignment with financing requirements. - Negotiate subcontract agreements and ensure proper documentation and record keeping. Construction Execution - Lead coordination between site teams, consultants, trades, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. - Oversee project schedules, construction sequencing, and milestone tracking. - Manage change orders, cost forecasting, contract administration, and project reporting. - Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety requirements, and quality control standards. Leadership - Mentor and support Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and junior team members. - Contribute to continuous improvement of internal construction processes and best practices. - Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project performance, key risks, and strategic decisions. Other duties, tasks and responsibilities that may be assigned and required in accordance with the needs of the business. Who You Are You are an experienced construction leader with a strong track record of delivering residential and mixed-use projects from preconstruction through completion. You are highly organized, commercially minded, and comfortable balancing strategic oversight with day-to-day execution. You bring strong leadership capabilities and are confident in managing project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders while maintaining accountability for schedule, budget, quality, and safety outcomes. In addition to these qualities, you possess: - Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field - 8–10+ years of progressive construction project management experience - Proven experience managing multifamily and mixed-use projects - Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and contract administration - Strong knowledge of construction scheduling and sequencing - Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, contracts, and construction documents - Experience coordinating consultants, trades, and suppliers - Strong knowledge of construction safety requirements, quality control, and local building code - Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills - Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite - PENG, RICS, PMP, Gold Seal, or other relevant certifications considered an asset - Eligible to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid work permit) Total Compensation Package - Base Annual Compensation, with a range of $130,000 to $150,000. depending on experience and qualifications. - Vacation & Time Off Package. - Extended Health & Dental Benefits upon successful completion of a mandatory 3 month probationary period.
