Responsibilities
- Reviews client project and site specifications and requirements.
- Conducts quality activities aligned with project scope.
- Reviews the project specifications and identifies quality requirements.
- Determining material requirements and traceability.
- Produces and/or collects quality turnover documentation.
- Acts as a liaison with craft/staff personnel to provide technical assistance as needed.
- Identifies and discerns root causes associated with nonconformances and reports to project team and quality manager.
- Verifies trade contractor compliance to their quality program and contract documents.
- Plans and coordinates daily Quality Assurance/Quality Coordinator (QA/QC) activities with construction activities.
- Works with field management to ensure the protection of finished work.
- Develops and maintains strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Tradesperson or postsecondary education in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of experience in quality control and/or the construction industry.
- Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Level 1 or 2 with CSA W178.2 Certification required – in relation to Endorsement of ASME B31.3 / Sec IX / Sec VIII Div 1 / CSA W47.1/W59.
- Well-rounded knowledge of ASME Sec IX Welding Procedures and Welder Qualifications.
- Experience with vessel layouts, fabrication, repairs and alterations.
- Experience in piping fabrication, installation and hydro testing.
- Experience with turnaround planning and execution.
- Experience developing and implementing ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans) and Repair plans.
- Experience coordinating non-destructive examination/testing (NDE/NDT) activities.
- Working knowledge of all codes and regulatory requirements (ABSA) related to the construction industry.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, Bluebeam.
- Demonstrates planning, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize own work.
