Who will you be working with?
As a Wabtec Canada Finance Intern you will be joining a dynamic and fast-paced environment as part of the Freight Services Canada team. In this role, you will have an opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals within the field of Finance and Operations. You will gain exposure supporting the Finance, Reliability and Operations teams and assist the greater organization in achieving its annual goals and objectives as an active participant.
How will you make a difference?
In this role, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
- Assist in data gathering and financial analysis for the various account team and HQ leadership
- Analyzing and reviewing key functional areas within the contract such as shop expenses
- Assist in data gathering and analysis of Transportation Canada balance sheet for legal entity separation
What do we want to know about you?
- Individuals with less than 2 years of work experience (outside of co-op/internship/summer work experience)
- Strong Interpersonal and Analytical Skills
- High Self Confidence and ability to work in a fast paced changing environment
- Initiative and willingness to learn – self starter
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
What will your typical day look like?
As a Finance and Operations Intern, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Working with Global Freight Services Finance and FP&A teams
- Analyzing cost drivers within individual Services P&Ls
- Reviewing key financial and operating metrics as they impact overall Services financial performance/health
- Participate in reviewing yearly and 3-year plans for revenue, EBIT and margins
- Assist in budgeting costs, revenue and inventory forecasts for the year
- Looking at revenue streams/levers for annual planning for 2027
