Veterinary Technician, RVT

Department: Ophthalmology

Location: New Westminster, BC

Compensation: $ to $ per hour, depending on experience and skills

Western Canada Veterinary Eye Specialists in New Westminster, BC, is looking for a full-time RVT. We want to find an enthusiastic, fun and energetic technician who is willing to expand their anesthetic skills. Experience is welcome but not required. The position includes a wide range of responsibilities and the opportunity to learn much about ophthalmology. We hope to find a person who likes to work in a small team, who thrives on taking on responsibilities and who has developed great communication skills. We are hoping to fill the position immediately.

  • Have completed a Veterinary Technician or Animal Health Technician program (Eligible to register)

  • New graduates with knowledge of physical examinations, patient assessment, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, and pharmacy - welcome to apply! We love growing new graduates!

  • Surgical preparation, assisting and patient recovery

  • Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records

  • Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients and their pet parents

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • The ability to problem-solve or the ability to ask clarifying questions to help you find solutions

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and pet parents

  • Passion to learn more within the role

  • A love for all companion animals!!
