Pediatric Physiotherapist

Contract Part-Time for 12 months

Location: Midland, Orillia

MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE FOR NEW GRADS

We are looking for a Pediatric Physiotherapist that can specialize in pediatric therapy care within the Simcoe County Community. This position is a Part-Time Salaried role with our School-Based Rehabilitation Program (SBRS) and complex core clients in schools and homes.

Our Pediatric Physiotherapists enjoy a guaranteed annual salary plus a steady schedule during the school year. If you are looking for an environment where you can be challenged and will get the best of both worlds while specializing in your therapy skills to improve the well-being of your pediatric clients, then this role might be the one for you.

What you will be doing:

  • Support a Tiered Model school-based rehabilitation program. You will assess and build client and family centered therapy care plans based on the students’ developmental needs (e.g., gross motor programming, mobility equipment recommendations ) and collaborate closely with the school team and family

  • Provide care to complex pediatric clients (neurological and musculoskeletal conditions) while supervising PTA's within children's homes and schools. You will build therapy care plans and recommend equipment based on the clients developmental, safety, and functional needs.

  • As a pediatric client advocate, you will facilitate a partnership between families, schools, and the local healthcare systems to ensure that your clients are able to attend and participate in school and community activities and engage successfully with the curriculum.

This position will align with your practice if:

  • You enjoy flexibility and autonomy over your schedule

  • You want to make a lasting change in a child’s life in home and school settings

  • You have a passion for working with children

  • You value collaborating with a high performing team that is committed to life-long learning and includes the leadership of an experienced PT

The successful Physiotherapist will:

  • Have a current active registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario in good standing

  • Previous Pediatric experience is preferred

  • ADP Authorizer or willingness to be trained is preferred

  • Have knowledge of legislation, regulations, and policies applicable to practice

  • Have knowledge of principles of reflective practice

  • Use a systematic approach to decision making during the development, implementation, and evaluation of the physiotherapy care plan

  • Be able to manage time and workload effectively

  • Ensure appropriate and secure documentation

  • Be able to work within a flexible schedule and adaptable environment

  • Have the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position.

  • Have a valid Driver’s License and reliable insured vehicle

  • Have vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) within 12 months of hire (or in process), with a current Criminal Records Check

  • Ability to speak French will be an asset

As a member of A Team Made of Caring™ at Closing the Gap, you can expect:

  • Competitive wages based on experience

  • Group benefits including an Employee Assistance Plan

  • Company contributions to your RRSP

  • A dynamic and collaborative team committed to excellence

The Not-So-Fine Print:

We are excited you are considering applying to become a valued member of our “Team Made for Caring”.

This position is open to individuals who are eligible to work in Canada, and who meet all the essential requirements stated above. Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the recruitment and assessment process as required under the CTG Accessibility policy.

Closing the Gap is committed to a high-quality and safe environment for our team members and clients/families. At Closing the Gap, we strongly encourage all new hires to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and Influenza as unvaccinated team members put themselves, co-workers, their clients, their client’s families, and CTG’s communities at unnecessary risk.

Closing the Gap is committed to the success of all its team members. If you feel you need accommodations because of illness or disability, please do not hesitate to contact Human Resources at @closingthegap.ca at your earliest convenience.
