Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and profoundly engaged Visual Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in defining and executing creative deliverables across multiple digital platforms, ensuring alignment with established digital brand experiences and online design systems. You will be responsible for defining, evangelizing, and driving the implementation of an overall design vision. The ideal candidate possesses deep practical expertise in User Interface (UI) Design and maintains a balanced understanding of strategy, usability, and interaction. We are looking for a storyteller who obsesses over details, thrives on feedback, and can act as a leader in the development of a complete range of visual design artifacts within a diverse, collaborative environment. This is a 3 month contract role, which requires the Visual Designer to work onsite at our client's office in downtown Toronto 3 days per week. Responsibilities

Define and evangelize a compelling vision for digital standards and design systems. Communicate conceptual ideas, detailed designs, and design rationales effectively to diverse audiences. Lead ideation, concept development, and experience innovation. Oversee project visual design deliverables from initial concept through to final execution, ensuring high-quality assurance. Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure the technical feasibility of designs. Participate in design reviews and iterate designs based on feedback and creative direction. Engage in observational studies, usability testing, and other customer research to inform design decisions. Stay current with evolving design methodologies, industry practices, and visual trends. Requirements

Experience:

8–10 years of overall experience, with at least 5+ years specifically designing interactive experiences. Education:

A degree in design or a design-related discipline (e.g., Visual Design, Graphic Design). Technical Proficiency:

Comprehensive understanding of interaction and UI design, with proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. Project Management:

Experience with Jira and Confluence; ability to work independently and manage tight timelines across multiple workstreams. Analytical Thinking:

A conceptual thinker with proven problem-solving skills and the ability to balance the "big picture" with meticulous attention to detail. Soft Skills:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and integrate feedback constructively. Portfolio:

A strong portfolio showcasing a deep understanding of user-centered design. Nice-to-Have:

Previous experience within a large-scale corporate environment or design system management.
