Step into a leadership role where your project management expertise directly shapes responsible mining development across Canada. As a Project Manager – Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), you will lead complex, multidisciplinary environmental projects, guiding teams and clients through the environmental assessment and permitting process with clarity, integrity, and impact. Supported by WSP’s deep technical bench and national network, you’ll deliver projects that balance development, environmental stewardship, and community outcomes.
Your Impact
- Lead Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) projects for mining developments from initiation through delivery.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resourcing and risk while maintaining high client satisfaction.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams, including environmental, social, and permitting specialists.
- Act as the primary client interface, building trusted relationships through clear, ethical, and proactive communication.
- Apply project management tools, methods, and best practices aligned with PMI standards.
- Track project financial performance, manage change orders, and control scope evolution.
- Identify, document, and mitigate project risks using structured risk registers.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Science, Environmental Studies, Business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of professional project management experience, including 3+ years in consulting.
- Demonstrated experience with Environmental and Social Impact Assessment processes in Canada (federal and/or provincial).
- Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary consulting teams and subcontractors.
- Strong expertise in project financial tracking, forecasting, and change management.
- Working knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMI).
- Experience using MS Project and/or Primavera P6, with advanced project planning and tracking skills.
- Action‑oriented, highly organized, adaptable, and effective under pressure.
Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100 – $138,000
MB & ON: $95,000 – $130,800
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $94,100 – $124,900
