Vacancy Status: This is for a current opening.
Job Description Who you are Join a high‑performing engineering team as a Staff Engineer on the Digital Assets Squad — tackling the hardest technical problems where regulated finance and onchain systems converge. You own how the product performs, ships reliably, and feels to users. You lead through code and judgment, partnering closely with product and design from architecture decisions to code review.
The squad builds regulated products at the intersection of traditional investment management and onchain infrastructure: staking ETFs, stablecoin distribution, tokenized funds, and the systems tying it all together. Deep crypto experience isn’t required — but you need to ramp fast in unfamiliar domains and find regulated ambiguity energizing.
Responsibilities: What you will do
Own the most technically complex cross‑cutting problems: performance, reliability, scalability, and platform architecture.
Define and drive technical direction — shared standards, patterns, and abstractions that reduce fragility.
Ship production code as a primary activity; your credibility comes from what you build.
Partner with product and design to pressure‑test requirements and advocate for technical quality as a driver of customer experience.
Elevate the team through code review, design feedback, and mentorship.
Identify and lead fixes for systemic issues — fragility, inconsistent patterns, tech debt — without stalling delivery.
Apply AI with the same engineering rigor you apply to any production system.
What AI does so you don’t have to AI handles growing execution work in this role — boilerplate, scaffolding, first‑pass code review, routine reconciliation monitoring, standard documentation, and test scaffolding. You focus where only a staff engineer creates value: hard architectural problems at the DeFi/regulated finance boundary, judgment calls without Stack Overflow answers, and technical mentorship.
What you will bring
Degree in CS, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent depth), with significant experience building consumer‑facing software.
Strong full‑stack engineering ability — frontend, backend, and infrastructure — with experience designing systems at scale.
High bar for software quality: testing, observability, feature flags, rollback capability, incident response are defaults.
Experience leading technical decisions: RFCs, driving alignment, and knowing when to push for consensus vs. make the call.
Clear communication to engineers (technical detail) and product stakeholders (trade‑offs, timelines, cost of shortcuts).
Track record of learning velocity — going deep in unfamiliar domains quickly.
Experience in a regulated industry (financial services, healthcare, or similar) where compliance shapes architecture; familiarity with CSA/OSC frameworks is a plus.
Mentored senior engineers and understand your leverage at this level is as much about team capability as your own output.
You could be an especially great fit if
You thrive in established teams — improving and extending what exists rather than needing a blank page.
You’re opinionated but updatable: you argue with conviction and change your mind when evidence shifts.
You’re genuinely excited about building software real people use, and you’re bothered when a technical compromise makes the product worse.
You think natively in systems and from first principles, finding real leverage and improving what’s working without disrupting it.
You move fluently from an ambiguous product problem → clear technical framing → well‑executed solution → measurable improvement in customer experience.
Our five values:
Innovation
– You bring new ideas, challenge the status quo, and find better ways of building. You don’t wait for permission to experiment.
Courage
– You speak up when something isn’t working, take difficult stands on technical quality, and act with conviction even when it’s uncomfortable.
Owner’s Mindset
– You take full accountability for your squad’s outcomes. You treat the platform, the team, and the business as your own.
Client Focus
– You place client outcomes at the center of every architectural and delivery decision.
Winning Through Individual and Collective Growth
– You invest in your own development and actively contribute to the growth of every engineer around you.
