Job description
EBC thinks outside the box and deploys all its know-how to carry out major infrastructure projects: bridges, roads, highways, tunnels, marine installations. Our ability to meet deadlines and budgets as well as our vast expertise in the field allow us to actively participate in large-scale projects such as the Samuel‑De‑Champlain Bridge, the Réseau Express Métropolitain (REM) and the Site C hydro‑electric power station located near Fort St‑John in British Columbia.

Our seasoned team of engineers, project managers and other specialists also put their energy into the construction of wind farms and to the benefit of hydroelectric projects such as dams, power stations, tunnels and dikes. As a member of the Civil team, the site Superintendent will work under the guidance of the Site or General Superintendent to provide insight and innovative construction solutions to ensure successful execution of various heavy civil projects which may include tunneling, highways, infrastructure, earthworks, and hydroelectric projects.

Responsibilities

Providing leadership and establishing effective and harmonious relationships among on‑site staff.

Having thorough and complete knowledge of contract documents, subcontracts, contract drawings, specifications, addenda, and assisting Site/General Superintendent in developing on‑site procedures.

Planning and reviewing the site construction program with Site/General Superintendent including quality control procedures, safety and environmental procedures, staging plans, equipment and manpower.

Coordinating with, directing, and monitoring the Field Engineer/Coordinator inspection activities of subcontractors, suppliers and own forces.

Coordinating with, and directing when necessary, the activities of the inspection agencies and effecting remedial actions if required.

Establishing and retaining necessary communications between subcontractors, consultants and clients.

Attending weekly safety meetings and coordination meetings with own forces, subcontractors, agencies and clients.

Providing daily reports of work done and labor and material employed to Site/General Superintendent.

Reviewing and submitting for approval all time cards, subcontractor's monthly request for payment, material vouchers and invoices.

Maintaining good relations and communications with all involved in the project including public.

Schedule: This is a remote site position operating on a rotational schedule of 14 days on, followed by 7 days off.

Requirements

Related work experience of 3-5 years in a construction supervision role, working on heavy civil construction projects.

Experience in earthworks and concrete structures a must.

Proven skills in management, negotiation, communication, and problem solving.

Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.

Knowledge of office management systems and administrative procedures.

Basic math, accounting, and finance skills.

Bilingual (an asset); proficiency in English language with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) is required.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi‑task.

Leadership and autonomy.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to act quickly and efficiently.

Results driven and quality oriented.
