Job descriptionJob Overview As a professional member of our growing FAAS team, you will bring our FAAS services to the Financial Services sector, including Banking, Capital Markets, Wealth Management, and Pension funds. You will work with clients to achieve better insights and control outcomes, optimize performance, and guide them through complex accounting, regulatory, disclosure, and transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Establish, maintain, and strengthen internal and external relationships.
Develop and expand long‑term client relationships and networks.
Collaborate with team members across all EY practices to deliver client needs.
Provide innovative commercial insights by adapting proven industry delivery methods and practices.
Support finance leaders across all areas of the finance function, including financial and regulatory reporting, disclosures, regulatory capital, and reporting challenges.
Support local business development activities and client engagement teams.
Qualifications
3–5 years of related work experience in the banking and capital markets industry.
Exposure to prudential regulatory rules applicable to financial institutions in Canada.
Working knowledge of capital infrastructure (data, systems, models, management and reporting) and key metric management.
Experience with planning, budgeting, forecasting, and stress testing processes.
Understanding of performance measurement and management concepts.
Knowledge of process transformation and improvement methodologies.
Experience with business performance reporting processes.
Familiarity with key accounting standards relevant to financial institutions, including IFRS 9, IAS 39 and IAS 32.
Understanding of financial accounting and the financial statement close process.
Experience with project and change management methodologies.
Proven track record with a blue‑chip consulting firm is advantageous.
Experience leading and delivering finance transformation programs/projects that cover the full life cycle.
Ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience in managing and/or mentoring junior staff and providing direction to team members.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a creative approach to solutions.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
High level of motivation and a self‑starting attitude.
Willingness to travel on short notice to meet client needs.
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, dynamic team environment.
Ability to develop relationships and rapidly build credibility and trust.
