This position is part of a unionized bargaining unit. The hourly wage for this position starts at $18.60 and is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, and prior experience, a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role, whether starting or higher, will fall within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement.

Location 1375 London Rd. Sarnia

Shifts Days, Evenings, Weekends

Responsibilities

Adhere to the department's assigned budget.

Manage and direct activities pertaining to department staff, including hiring, coaching, training and scheduling.

Ensure products meet fresh standards.

Ensure proper ordering, purchasing and inventory control, and develop and implement strategic plans to achieve projected gross margin.

Deal directly with suppliers regarding store line‑ups and build displays.

Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, including Customer Service Policy, government regulations, health & safety, sanitation and security.

Support overall store operation, including store opening and closing.

Oversee and be responsible for the operations of the Night Crew.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Qualifications

Grocery experience, including excellent product knowledge, rotation and merchandising experience.

Superior customer service skills.

Capable of standing for a prolonged period of 4-8 hours; bending, twisting, turning, reaching; and lifting up to 60 lbs.

Available to work days, evenings, Saturdays and Sundays, as required by the C.B.A.
