Director, Data Platforms . The position is open to candidates in BC and Ontario and may operate in a hybrid arrangement with on‑site requirements as needed. Responsibilities
Solving highly complex, ambiguous engineering and architectural problems Making key technical decisions that influence platform scalability, reliability and future direction Evaluating and selecting tools, frameworks and patterns with long‑term impact in mind Balancing technical excellence with delivery timelines and business priorities Communicating architectural designs, trade‑offs and recommendations to senior technical and business stakeholders Acting as a trusted technical advisor to product, analytics and platform leadership Influencing engineering practices and standards across multiple teams Facilitating alignment between business needs and technical solutions Operating as a senior individual contributor with no formal people‑management responsibilities Providing mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers Leading by example in code quality, operational excellence and engineering discipline Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical discipline 6‑8+ years of industry experience in Data Engineering or related field handling data processing and transformation of disparate datasets Experience with big data and analytics programming languages such as Python, R, Spark in Databricks Experience with batch and real‑time processing frameworks (EventHub, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, etc.) Strong ability to innovate and adapt to emerging technologies Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities Experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Semarchy and EventHub Exposure to DevSecOps practices and security‑first principles Understanding of data storage, mapping, modeling and real‑time data handling What You’ll Bring

This role offers a salary range of
$113,100 – $139,650
per annum. The base pay may vary depending on relevant qualifications, skills and experience. Employees may also be eligible for an annual incentive program subject to eligibility criteria.
