Job descriptionAcero Engineering Inc. ("Acero"), a growing facilities engineering company providing engineering, procurement and construction management expertise is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Intermediate Document Control. Acero is focused on facility and pipeline engineering, procurement and construction management services; from concept evaluation to plant start-up. Our core service offering is in-house project management, process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering, project engineering, procurement, regulatory services, civil and structural engineering, and construction management. Responsibilities: * Assist with the organization, maintenance, and lifecycle management of all project documentation, while mentoring team members and delegating tasks to maintain smooth document workflows. * Work in a group of 1-2 document control staff. * Assist project teams with EDMS configuration and customization, ensuring the system is optimized to meet project needs. * Processing engineering drawings as per Acero's procedures including log-in all documents into EDMS, prepare transmittal, and upload documents to client transfer sites. * Processing of incoming vendor documents and vendor document returns. * Preparing & circulating in-house squad checks and vendor squad checks. * Processing EWP and CWP packages. * Compiling Engineering and Vendor databooks for project close-out. * Issuing drawing requests and document number requests to the client. * Storing, sending, receiving, securing, revising, retrieving, distributing, tracking down and archiving electronic and hard copy documents. * Performing internal audits on all documents when needed. * Communicating effectively with appropriate engineering disciplines; which includes, providing ongoing updates on status of work. * Ensuring required filing and archiving of technical documents is done in a timely manner. * Checking quality of all internal engineering drawings and outgoing documents as per the company standard and client standard. * Archiving as per company procedure. * Other tasks and responsibilities, as required. Required Education, Experience and Skills: * Post-Secondary Education in a related discipline, preferred * Minimum of 5 years of related experience in an EPCM environment * Demonstrate an ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within the document control environment and with colleagues across all disciplines * Build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors and co-workers * Speed and accuracy are absolute must-have character traits * Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) * Strong written, verbal, analytical and critical thinking skills * Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines as occasionally demanded by our clients
