Job description
CyberGuard Advantage is a fast-growing cybersecurity and compliance services firm trusted by organizations that demand deep technical expertise, rigorous methodologies, and measurable outcomes. We help clients reduce risk, strengthen their security posture, and navigate complex compliance requirements across frameworks including SOC, ISO, PCI, and HITRUST.

The Senior Security Consultant is a trusted advisor to our clients, responsible for delivering high-quality information security and compliance consulting services. This role leads client engagements, conducts complex security assessments, produces executive-level deliverables, and provides strategic guidance across PCI, privacy, and cybersecurity domains. The Senior Security Consultant works with multiple clients simultaneously, supports pre‑sales activities, and serves as a key contributor to the firm’s reputation and growth.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY This position will not directly supervise and mentor members within the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct a broad range of information security and compliance assessments, analyses, and advisory services, including but not limited to Reports on Compliance (ROC), risk assessments, gap analyses, and related security reviews.

Lead client engagements by chairing meetings and conference calls, tracking action items, following up on deliverables, and proactively communicating with clients to ensure projects progress smoothly through successful completion.

Prepare clear, professional, and well-structured reports that document assessment findings, risks, and recommendations tailored to both technical and executive audiences.

Consult with clients to explain assessment results, help them understand risk implications, and guide them through remediation options and next steps.

Provide advisory input and guidance on security architecture and control design related to PCI compliance, privacy requirements, and broader cybersecurity best practices.

Support the sales team through pre‑sales activities, including needs analysis, proposal development, solution design, and participation in client‑facing discussions as a subject matter expert.

Write concise summaries and executive briefs that clearly communicate key findings, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Manage multiple client engagements and projects concurrently while maintaining high standards of quality, responsiveness, and professionalism.

Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and webinars to stay current on evolving security standards, regulations, and threats.

Travel to company offices and client sites across North America, as required, to support project delivery and client relationships.

OTHER DUTIES Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for their job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice, as allowed by law.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION

Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security, compliance, or cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in a client-facing consulting or senior advisory role.

Strong knowledge of PCI DSS, privacy frameworks, and cybersecurity principles.

Demonstrated ability to lead client‑facing engagements and communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Excellent written communication skills, with experience producing formal reports and executive‑level documentation.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and client engagements in a fast‑paced consulting environment.

Willingness to travel across North America as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This job operates in a professional virtual remote work environment. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to stand and sit for prolonged periods. Specific vision abilities required include close and medium distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear normal sounds, distinguish sound as voice and communicate through human speech. This position requires the ability to routinely operate a keyboard, computer mouse, telephone, fax, scanner, copier, writing tools, scissors, and other standard office equipment. On an occasion, an employee will be asked to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.
