Job description:
Concept Studies Design Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Architecture Engineer to support early-stage concept development for future vehicle platforms within a leading automotive OEM. This role focuses on system-level vehicle design, packaging, and feasibility studies, working closely with design studios to translate concepts into viable engineering solutions.
The Vehicle Architecture Engineer will contribute to platform layout development, propulsion and chassis packaging, and integration of key vehicle systems including EV components. This role will be a key contributor to architecture, concept development, and feasibility assessment as new vehicle programs are defined years ahead of production.
This role requires a combination of strong technical capability, communication skills, and problem-solving ability. The position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams including design, powertrain, chassis, and suppliers. The ability to work in an early-stage, fast-paced, and ambiguous environment is critical.
Responsibilities
•Vehicle architecture feasibility studies (“quick loop”concept evaluations)
•Platform layout development and concept CAD geometry
•Chassis, suspension, and underbody packaging
•Powertrain integration (ICE / Hybrid / EV)
•EV battery packaging and high-voltage system integration
•Cooling systems, air intake, exhaust, and fuel system packaging
•Cross-functional collaboration with design studios, engineering teams, and suppliers
Qualifications:
•5+ years of experience in vehicle integration, packaging, or architecture engineering
•Strong understanding of vehicle systems including chassis, powertrain, and thermal systems
•Experience with system-level packaging and feasibility studies
•Exposure to EV platforms, battery integration, or high-voltage systems
•Proficiency in CAD tools such as NX, CATIA, or similar
•Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in early-stage concept environments
•Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
