Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results‑driven professional to join our Nuclear Projects and Strategic Initiatives team as a Senior Financial Analyst. Reporting to the Senior Manager, the role is responsible for applying advanced financial expertise to develop and oversee financial strategies, systems, and policies; and for providing independent leadership, guidance and due diligence support to management in financial decision‑making. Location : Pickering, ON

Salary Range : $2,751.92 – $3,227.88 per week. Key Accountabilities
Perform detailed analysis of financial results, including variances relative to budget, forecast and actuals, to provide valuable financial insights and recommendations to key stakeholders. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual period‑end journal entries and financial reporting for major projects, programs and accounts. Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to support operations, major projects and forecasting; act as specific point of contact to clients. Provide management reports utilizing financial systems and other inputs; perform ad‑hoc financial analysis to respond to non‑routine requests and queries. Develop, recommend and monitor adherence to financial strategies, policies, procedures and guidelines; ensure clients meet finance requirements. Review accounting practices and assess the accuracy, consistency and appropriateness of analysis and conclusions. Participate in the development and implementation of financial information systems and procedures; maintain, update and support financial systems. Maintain professional awareness of current accounting practice, GAAP and the general business environment, including the utility industry; communicate impacts and implications. Qualifications
4 years of university education and a professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA, CA, CGA, CMA). Minimum of 8 years of related working experience. Experience working in a financial or accounting environment in a comparable organization, familiar with financial analysis, controllership and financial systems. Experience with financial analysis, controllership and financial systems (SAP, Asset Suite, SAP BPC, PowerBI, Business Case Reviews, Business Unit Risk) is considered an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Sound professional judgment, critical thinking, attention to detail and creative problem‑solving abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence and communicate effectively with key stakeholders at all levels of the company. Results‑oriented focus, ability to work in a fast‑paced changing environment and to manage several projects simultaneously. Experience and exposure from working in highly regulated industries such as utilities, energy, power, mining or public sector is preferred. Equal Employment Opportunity
