Position Overview
The Saskatchewan Wrestling Association is seeking two motivated and energetic Summer Program Coordinators to support the growth and development of wrestling across the province. The successful candidates will work collaboratively with each other and the leadership team to deliver high-quality programs and services to both new and existing members.
Applicants must be students returning to school in September 2026.
- Term: 8 weeks (Summer 2026 – start date flexible)
- Hours: Full-time (35 hours/week), including some evenings and weekends
- Wage: $20.00/hour
- Location: Based in Saskatoon, SK, with travel throughout the province (some overnight stays required)
A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle may be required, as travel is a component of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver summer wrestling programs and events, including camps, school outreach initiatives, and beach wrestling activities
- Manage event logistics such as registration, scheduling, marketing, and sponsorship support
- Assist in the delivery of “Learn to Wrestle” and beach wrestling camps, providing instruction and mentorship to developing athletes
- Develop and maintain databases for athlete and alumni tracking, registrations, competition results, and grant applications
- Collect and organize seasonal planning information, including provincial team schedules, training locations, competition dates, and equipment/apparel orders
- Support administrative and operational priorities, including research projects, surveys, fundraising initiatives, and communications (website and social media content)
- Contribute to the overall growth and engagement of the wrestling community in Saskatchewan
Qualifications and Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in sport management, kinesiology, education, or a related field (one position may be open to a qualified secondary student)
- Background and experience in wrestling (required)
- Experience in coaching, event planning, administration, or database management is considered an asset
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with social media and website content management is an asset
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Conditions of Employment
The successful candidates will be required to provide:
- Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search)
- Valid driver’s license and driver’s abstract
- Proof of completion of Respect in Sport
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification
