Senior Technical Consultant – Geospatial / GIS
Location: North America–based (United States or Canada) — primary
Preferred locations: Houston, TX; Calgary, AB; Vancouver, BC
Role Summary
As a Senior Technical Consultant – Geospatial / GIS, you will provide delivery‑embedded geospatial analysis and spatial data integration support for large infrastructure projects. The role focuses on ArcGIS‑based analysis, spatial QA/QC, and production of customer‑ready mapping products to support routing, hazard evaluation, investigation planning, and engineering decision‑making.
This position will be based in a Worley office in Houston, TX; Calgary, AB; Vancouver, BC; with a hybrid work schedule. The role is not intended for remote‑only delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver GIS and spatial analysis to support active project delivery
- Integrate and manage multi‑source spatial datasets
- Produce customer‑ready maps, figures, and spatial data products
- Perform spatial QA/QC, validation, and version control
- Support interpretation workflows through visualization and spatial analysis
- Coordinate closely with geoscience and geotechnical delivery teams
Required Qualifications
- Degree in GIS, Geospatial Science, Geography, Engineering, or related discipline
- Typically 7+ years of relevant experience delivering GIS or geospatial analysis for infrastructure or engineering projects
- Strong proficiency with ArcGIS and related tools
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality, customer‑ready spatial outputs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
Equivalent combinations of experience and demonstrated capability will be considered.
Travel / Field Expectations
Limited travel may be required. Field presence is not a primary requirement but may occur on a project‑specific basis.
For applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range is $103,167 to $151,716.
Application of the pay band: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
