The Senior Customer Growth Marketing Specialist (B2B) applies communications knowledge, expertise, and experience to create relevant, innovative marketing content that drives incremental sales and customer loyalty. This role owns end-to-end execution of customer marketing initiatives—from short communications to complex, integrated campaigns—while determining the appropriate channels, timelines, and strategies to deliver measurable results. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders, key accounts, and international teams to increase awareness and adoption of SPP’s branded merchandise programs.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop annual marketing and communication plans for customer programs and lead cross-functional execution to achieve business goals
- Create and execute email marketing, lead nurture, and conversion campaigns using Marketo; partner with SPP U.S. teams on Marketo functionality
- Own data analysis and reporting to assess program performance and inform future strategy
- Conduct deep dives into customer brands, industries, and business needs to create tailored marketing strategies
- Support Business Development through customer case studies, pitches, and targeted marketing campaigns
- Develop and manage e-blasts, e-store promotions (banners, sliders), printed flyers, and legally compliant e-blast lists
- Provide direction and oversight for print catalogs, sponsorships, events, and other core customer marketing executions
- Develop Statements of Work (SOWs) and guide teams through agency-style creative strategy and ideation
- Manage media budgets and report on performance
- Produce webcasts, presentations, and talk tracks for customer and vendor initiatives
- Ensure all communications align to brand, legal, and compliance standards
- Collaborate with U.S. and U.K. divisions to leverage shared assets and ideas across the Canadian organization
- Support additional marketing programs and initiatives as needed
What You Bring To The Table:
- Strong marketing communications expertise with the ability to translate strategy into compelling customer-facing content
- Confidence working with multiple internal stakeholders, external agencies, vendors, and customers
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail, urgency, and quality
- Strong analytical mindset with experience evaluating performance and optimizing campaigns
- Collaborative approach and ability to influence without direct authority
What’s Needed – Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of related experience in a B2B marketing communications role
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including plain-language writing
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office
- Ability to develop tactical, business-oriented marketing communications (digital and print)
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to plan, manage, and execute end-to-end marketing communication projects
What’s Needed – Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Marketo and marketing automation platforms
- Understanding of marketing-related regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience with website development and maintenance
- Ability to clearly present and position ideas to diverse audiences
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French
- Experience managing budgets and working with agencies
- Design aptitude with the ability to translate marketing strategy into clear, effective creative direction
- Strong copywriting skills with experience developing creative briefs
