Description
Inspirational, innovative and entrepreneurial - this is how we describe our empowered teams.
MNP is proudly Canadian. Providing business strategies and solutions, we are a leading national accounting, tax and business advisory firm in Canada. Entrepreneurial to our core, our talented team members transcend obstacles into opportunities and are successfully transforming mid-market business practices.
Make an impact with our Consulting team as a Senior Consultant. This diverse team of professionals utilizes leading-edge industry knowledge to support a diverse portfolio of advisory work spanning:
- Marketing and communications strategy
- Digital and campaign-based work
- UX research and experience design
- Community and stakeholder consultation
- Community, place‑based, and non‑profit strategy
Overview
This role is for someone with a strong foundation in marketing, digital marketing, communications, UX, or engagement work who wants to apply their skills in a more strategic, advisory, and problem‑solving environment.
If you:
- Love variety
- Enjoy figuring things out when there’s no obvious playbook
- Are energized by people, communities, stories, and strategy this role was built for you.
You do not need big consulting experience, but you do need curiosity, judgment, and the ability to think beyond tactics.
You will work closely with Senior Leaders to help shape approaches, conduct research, synthesize insights, and deliver clear, well‑reasoned recommendations for clients across public sector, non‑profit, and purpose‑driven organizations.
This is intentionally not a narrow specialization role. Each project is different. The problems are rarely textbook. Success comes from asking good questions, making sense of complexity, and finding thoughtful, practical ways forward.
What Makes This Role Different
- The work changes frequently — and that’s a feature, not a bug
- You’ll work across marketing, UX, communications, and community strategy, often in the same month
- Our projects involve real people, real communities, and real trade‑offs, not theoretical models
- You’ll be trusted to think, not just execute
If you like clarity, predictability, and routine at all times, this role may feel uncomfortable.
If you like to be emergent, and turn problem‑solving into a polished recommendation, you will thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy, Research & Sense‑Making
- Support strategy development across marketing, communications, UX, and community‑focused projects.
- Conduct qualitative research such as interviews, workshops, engagement sessions, and desk research.
- Analyze and synthesize input from communities, users, and stakeholders into meaningful insights.
- Help identify patterns, tensions, opportunities, and practical recommendations — even when information is incomplete.
- Apply structured thinking without forcing one‑size‑fits‑all solutions.
UX, Engagement & Community Work
- Support projects and initiatives from planning through delivery.
- Help translate user needs, community feedback, and lived experience into strategy and action.
- Support accessible, inclusive, and human‑centred engagement approaches.
- Contribute to materials that explain complex ideas clearly to public, community, and senior audiences.
Project & Delivery Leadership
- Manage and coordinate multiple workstreams and contributors across engagements.
- Work collaboratively with designers, digital specialists, and creative partners.
- Track timelines, dependencies, and risks — and adjust plans as projects evolve.
- Maintain organized project documentation and working files.
Writing & Client‑Ready Outputs
- Draft and refine strategies, reports, presentations, and briefing materials.
- Turn research and analysis into clear, compelling narratives and recommendations.
- Ensure deliverables are polished, accurate, and appropriate for senior or public‑facing contexts.
- Support key message development across different audiences and formats.
Consulting & Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Senior leaders to understand client context, goals, and constraints.
- Support client communications, updates, and working sessions.
- Contribute ideas, challenge thinking constructively, and help improve how work gets done.
- Take ownership for quality, follow‑through, and outcomes.
Skills and Experience
You likely bring:
- 3–6+ years of experience in marketing, digital marketing, communications, UX, engagement, strategy, or adjacent fields
- Strong writing and storytelling skills
- Experience with research, insights, or strategy work (formal or informal)
- Comfort working across different audiences and stakeholders
- A bias toward action, learning, and figuring things out
You do not need:
- Prior “big consulting” experience (but could be an asset if you do!)
Tools & Skills
- Strong working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Comfort collaborating in shared project environments
- Familiarity with digital, creative, or UX processes
- Experience with tools like Figma or Adobe is an asset, not a requirement
