WHATS THE JOB

The Assistant Lodge Manager supports the Project in the day-to-day operations of a remote-workforce accommodation site and helps ensure the safe efficient and consistent delivery of camp services. This role provides hands-on leadership across multiple departments while supporting service standards team accountability guest experience and operational continuity.

The Assistant Lodge Manager is a key operational support to the project and acts as the main on-site contact. The role also serves as a day-to-day liaison for the client and service provider helping ensure contractual scope site expectations and operational priorities are consistently met.


This position requires fly-in/fly-out travel from Edmonton Alberta the Kitikmeot Region in Nunavut or Yellowknife Northwest Territories to the project site in Nunavut with potential for weather-related delays or logistical challenges. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in overseeing daily site operations across culinary housekeeping front desk maintenance coordination travel administration and guest services.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for the client and service provider on day-to-day operational matters.
  • Help ensure services are delivered in line with contractual scope company standards and client expectations.
  • Support the timely resolution of guest concerns service issues and operational escalations.
  • Culinary: support meal service execution dining flow bagged meals and coordination with kitchen leadership.
  • Housekeeping: support room inspections cleaning standards and readiness of guest rooms and common areas.
  • Front Desk / Accommodations: support check-in/check-out room assignments guest communications and issue tracking.
  • Maintenance Coordination: log communicate and follow up on maintenance and safety-related work orders.
  • ERP / Administration: maintain records reports purchase requests inventory updates and site documentation. Act as the fire warden in case of an emergency.
  • Travel & Reservations: coordinate travel enquiries flights room reservations arrivals/departures and rooming updates.
  • Support onboarding training scheduling and performance follow-up across departments.
  • Ensure associates are in their assigned areas and completing required tasks.
  • Support payroll timesheets labour tracking and expense control as assigned.
  • Support compliance with company clients and legislative health and safety requirements.
  • Participate in inspections incident reporting corrective actions and quality processes.
  • Help maintain standards for service quality sanitation and safe work practices.
  • Coordinate flight manifests shuttle schedules and crew-change day flows with Workforce/Travel.

Qualifications :

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive management experience in hospitality remote camp operations or similar fields.
  • Post-secondary education in business hospitality or a related discipline preferred.
  • WHMIS and other relevant safety certifications (or willingness to obtain).
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel as required.
  • Proven success leading 300 person teams and operating within defined budgets and KPIs.
  • Ability to pass the Drug and Alcohol and Health Assessment is required
  • Must be able to clear a Criminal Background Check

  • Strong client service focus with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Financial management skills including budgeting forecasting and cost control.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and operational management tools.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety compliance.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision during remote shifts.
  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability in diverse team environments including collaboration with Indigenous and Inuit staff

Working Conditions:

  • Project-based role with primary work in Nunavut flexibility for remote work when not on-site.
  • Ability to work long shifts and rotational schedules (e.g. 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off or similar).
  • Endurance to function effectively in remote northern climates including extreme cold wind or lack of daylight during certain periods.
  • Resilience under isolation conditionslong periods away from home with limited external contact.
  • Occasional travel to other projects across Canada.
  • Fly-in/fly-out arrangement; shared accommodations and meals provided while on-site.
  • Extended periods away from home with possible weather-related travel delays.
  • Must comply with all company and client health safety and operational standards.

Work schedule and remuneration:

Assistant Lodge Managers work on a rotational schedule of 3 weeks on/3 weeks off. Site locations are in remote settings requiring either air travel to site or via ground on our shuttle. You may be required to work nights weekdays weekends and general holidays. Wages are paid on an hourly basis with a starting range of $27.00.
