Property Administrator

Job Description Summary

The Property Administrator will be responsible for handling all aspects of the daily Accounts Payable and Receivable functions month-end and year-end financial reporting. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Job Description

Accounts Receivable

  • Responsible for rent collection chequepostingand application ofrents totenant accounts.
  • Utilize accounting system (Yardi) and work with Revenue Accounting team to ensure A/R reporting isaccurateandcurrent
  • Reconcile and apply cash to tenant A/R accounts in accounting software system(Yardi) and obtainSenior PropertyManagerapproval for submission to H/O accounting for posting.
  • Completecollectionscallswhile building positive tenant relations.
  • Enroll tenants on EFT / PAD asrequired.
  • Research payment history and reconcile tenant accounts and produce statements of account uponrequest
  • Prepare correspondence related to delinquent accounts including default notices demand letters etc. ready forSenior PropertyManagersignature.
  • Update arrears report for monthly owner reporting book with detailed explanation of account balances and status of collections.
  • Provide explanations toSeniorProperty Manageron all outstanding arrears.
  • Completewrite-offs packages and other required documentation for ownership approval
  • Liase withhead office accountingin relation to property revenues
  • Otherduties asmay be assigned from time to time.

Property Management/Lease Administration

  • Assist theSenior Property Managerand on-site collections teams to maximize collection rates andassistwith reconciling retroactivearrears
  • Assistwith preparation of monthly and quarterly reports to clients.
  • Liaise with tenants to resolve problems/complaints review trends in tenant calls and make recommendations with a view to improving serviceand overall collectionrates

Skills and Experience Required

  • Post-secondary educationpreferred with a focusinaccounting.
  • A minimum of5years of experience asProperty Administrator inreal estate with a proven background and skillset in Collections and Accounts Receivable
  • Proven ability and exposure to reconciling andcleaning-upcomplicated tenant accounts (reviewing chargesidentifyingmisapplied payments etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized enthusiasticproactiveand results driven.
  • Must beself-motivated ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Must haveabilityto multi-task and to continuously adjust priorities.
  • Willingness to acceptadditionalresponsibilities beyond specific duties toassistmanagement team.
  • Experience withYardiis a definite asset along withproficiencyin Microsoft Suite of Products Word Excel Outlook.





The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement the geographic area in which the work will be performed market pay rates in that area and the candidates experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $ 63750.00 - $75000.00
