About the Role
The Department of International Business, Supply Chain Management & Aviation at Mount Royal University invites applications for a One-Year, Limited Term faculty position in Business Law at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 15, 2026, subject to budgetary approval.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching. The primary focus will be on teaching business law courses in support of the BBA. The preferred candidate will be able to contribute to the design and delivery of courses in business law and related legal disciplines (e.g. employment, privacy, human rights, etc.). In addition to demonstrating the potential for effective teaching, the successful candidate will also approach their work in a way that demonstrates an awareness of issues related to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and that supports an inclusive environment.
The successful candidate will hold a minimum of an LLB or JD and be a member, in good standing, of a Canadian Law Society.
The successful candidate for this role will be hired into the teaching/service pattern (TS). The teaching / service pattern focuses on teaching and service only. The successful candidate will be expected to teach eight 3-credit hour courses per academic year and will be an active participant in various service roles.

Qualifications
- A completed Bachelor of Laws (LLB) / Juris Doctor (JD) degree and a completed Master of Laws (LL.M.), MBA or other related Masters degree. A Ph.D degree will be an asset.
- Expertise in Canadian Business Law and related areas of legal practice.
- Teaching experience in Canadian Business law at the post-secondary or professional level.
- Membership in good standing with a Canadian Law Society.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
