Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspection, greasing, and lubrication of rollers, bearings, gearboxes, motors, and drive systems according to established preventative maintenance schedules.
Identify and report early signs of wear or mechanical failure, including abnormal heat, vibration, noise, oil discoloration, or metallic contamination.
Conduct visual and operational inspections of conveyors and rotating equipment to identify issues such as belt misalignment, chain wear, bearing wear, roller system malfunctions, or minor misalignment.
Use grease guns, oil pumps, and automated lubrication systems safely and efficiently.
Perform assigned preventive maintenance (PM) tasks according to structured checklists and manufacturer guidelines.
Complete maintenance logs, inspection reports, and deficiency notifications accurately and in a timely manner.
Read and refer to basic mechanical drawings, assembly diagrams, part drawings/designs, and lubrication diagrams for inspection and routine maintenance.
Work safely, adhering to lockout/tagout procedures, confined space requirements, fall protection standards, and all applicable safety policies. Inspect, grease, and lubricate bearings, bushings, gearboxes, and drive systems.
Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial, marine, agricultural, or bulk material handling environment.
Experience inspecting and maintaining bulk grain handling equipment, including belt conveyors, screw conveyors, bucket elevators, drag conveyors, grain chutes, dust collection systems, motors, and gear reducers.
Proven mechanical aptitude with power transmission components, including chains, sprockets, timing belts, couplings, and gearboxes.
Working knowledge of lubrication, including lubrication schedules, viscosity grades, and contamination control.
Ability to follow preventive maintenance checklists, equipment manuals, and written procedures.
Ability to identify mechanical failures and report problems appropriately.
Basic welding and/or fabrication skills are considered an asset.
Ability to work independently on assigned maintenance tasks while strictly adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
Physical ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in dusty industrial environments. Ability to safely walk, climb, lift, and stack 23 kg (50 lbs) and work at heights.
