Job Description
The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA), in partnership with the University of Saskatchewan, College of Medicine, Department of Surgery, is seeking a Pediatric Spine Surgeon to join a collaborative and highly specialized surgical team in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
This is a unique opportunity to provide tertiary and quaternary pediatric spine care for children and adolescents across Saskatchewan and neighboring provinces.
Clinical services are primarily based at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH), Saskatchewan’s only tertiary pediatric facility, with additional responsibilities at Royal University Hospital (RUH), the province’s Level 1 trauma centre.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive assessment and surgical management of pediatric spinal conditions
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient care including consultation and follow-up
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in shared pediatric on-call coverage
- Contribute to provincial outreach as required
Academic Responsibilities
- Appointment with the University of Saskatchewan, College of Medicine
- Participation in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education
- Engagement in research and quality improvement initiatives
- Additional incentives through the Saskatchewan Medical Association (SMA)
Job Qualifications
Job Qualifications
- RCPSC certification (or eligible) in Surgery
- Fellowship training in Pediatric Spine Surgery
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS)
