Director, Facilities and Office Services - Remote within Canada
Here’s What You Will Spend Your Time Doing
Strategic Leadership
- Build and lead a high‑performing Facilities & Office Services team
- Drive accountability through performance management, coaching, and succession planning
- Lead change management initiatives and stakeholder alignment
- Model Western’s Guiding Principles and leadership values
Leasing & Portfolio Management
- Lead enterprise‑wide lease strategy, negotiations, renewals, amendments, and terminations for 180+ locations
- Manage landlord and property manager relationships across the national portfolio
- Negotiate lease terms and tenant improvements to support branch optimization and evolving business needs
- Develop flexible lease solutions where location longevity is uncertain
- Ensure lease decisions align with financial, operational, and risk objectives
Facilities Operations & Projects
- Lead planning and execution of facility renovations, refreshes, relocations, and closures
- Oversee capital planning and facilities budgets
- Establish and maintain enterprise facilities standards, frameworks, and maintenance programs
- Manage vendor selection, procurement, and performance oversight
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, accessibility, and municipal requirements
- Liaise with architects and construction companies to ensure facility builds meet our standards and branding
Strategy, EHS & Sustainability
- Lead facility‑related strategic initiatives aligned with Western’s business strategy
- Develop and maintain Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) programs in partnership with internal stakeholders
- Create and maintain facility maintenance schedules including leasehold improvement projects, moves and closures
- Define and track key performance indicators to measure effectiveness
- Partner with the business to ensure alignment with the organization’s brand and office design
What We Are Looking For
- Demonstrated progressive experience in facilities management, real estate, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience with large, multi‑site real estate portfolios
- Strong lease negotiation and commercial judgment experience
- Proven people leadership with experience managing managers
