  • Maintain internal controls and ensure all records are audit‑ready.
  • Conduct risk analysis and compliance reporting for Board meetings.

Payroll & Benefits Management

  • Process bi‑weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees (weekend/stat work may occasionally be required).
  • Administer employee benefits, RRSPs, and ensure CRA payroll remittance compliance.
  • Prepare T4s and quarterly/annual reporting for Worksafe.

Budgeting & Financial Planning

  • Lead the drafting of annual departmental budgets in collaboration with managers.
  • Monitor financial performance and recommend improvements or efficiencies.
  • Draft projection reports and revenue plans

  • Oversee invoice approval, vendor payments, EFT processing, and credit card reconciliations.
  • Manage issuance of invoices under existing contracts and other miscellaneous billing.
  • Administer corporate credit cards and related accounts.

  • Liaise with external IT providers as required.
  • Ensure organizational systems, licenses, and alarm users are up to date.

Overall LAPS Vision And Operation

  • Support and promote the vision and strategic plan of LAPS
  • Ensure positive public relations and customer service practices
  • Ensure compliance with all protocols, procedures, and policies.
  • Demonstrate the LAPS Team Values of Compassion, Excellence, Integrity, Adaptability, Connection and Accountability in all decisions and interactions.

Working Conditions

  • Fast paced and dynamic with competing priorities
  • At times extensive sitting, standing or activity during entire shift if required
  • Frequent exposure to computer video terminal and computer peripherals
  • Workdays are 8 hours. Work schedules are flexible depending on the needs of the organization. This position requires work on evenings and weekends shifts for special events or programming
  • Environment can be noisy, odorous, and stressful, both physically and emotionally

Required Qualifications

  • Hands‑on experience with accounting systems; experience with Sage 50 is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with sound judgment and a strategic mindset.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.

Education And Training

  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive finance experience, including non‑profit experience preferred.

What LAPS Offers

  • Salary Range $80,000 – $105,000
