Our Story & Purpose:
We’re Vancity, a member-owned credit union built on the principles of inclusion and social justice. Since 1946, our relentless commitment to these values has helped us challenge the status quo and break down barriers. We’ve made bold commitments to become net-zero by 2040 across all mortgages and loans, and we’re actively pursuing strategies in Indigenous banking and financial resilience for our members.

As the largest private sector Living Wage Employer in Canada, we’re proud to be consistently recognized as one of the country’s Top Employers. If you’re ready to join our team of 2,300 diverse individuals, access competitive rewards and benefits, and be part of a greater movement - apply today!

Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As a DevOps Engineering Manager, you will advance Vancity’s SDLC by leading and growing DevOps practice. You will partner with, SRE, Observability, QA, Security and Product teams to improve SDLC and enable fast, secure and reliable delivery of mission‑critical systems in our regulated environment. You will combine people leadership, technical depth and strategic thinking to modernize delivery practices, reduce operational risk and accelerate value for our members and communities.

This is a Full-time role based at our Head Office in Vancouver, British Columbia and will report directly to the Director – Cloud Engineering

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Leading and developing a team of DevOps engineers by setting clear expectations, coaching for growth and fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, learning and continuous improvement
  • Driving SDLC, DevOps and CI/CD strategy by designing, evolving and governing automated pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code and deployment standards across cloud and hybrid platforms
  • Partnering cross‑functionally with SRE, Security, Architecture, QA, Product and ITSM teams to embed reliability, security and compliance into the solution delivery lifecycle
  • Improving operational outcomes by reducing toil, improving deployment reliability and enabling faster, safer and more predictable delivery of services

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps/DevSecOps, solution delivery or cloud engineering roles, including 5+ years in a people leadership or technical management role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure/Azure DevOps and pipelines, automation and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
  • Relevant certifications, such as:
  • Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into execution while balancing delivery, reliability, and team wellbeing.

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

  • Experience implementing or maturing DevOps practices within Financial Services organizations.
  • Experience working with Windows and SQL server, Expert in PowerShell, Python, JS,…
  • Strong Experience in DevSecOps practice, including QA, security scanning and policy‑as‑
  • Experience modernizing legacy platforms and supporting core banking or mission‑critical systems.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to senior leaders and non‑technical stakeholders.

You’ll Thrive Here If You Are:

  • A people‑first leader who enjoys mentoring, empowering and growing engineering mindset and talent.
  • Comfortable navigating complex, regulated environments while still driving meaningful change.
  • Curious and value oriented, always looking for better ways to automate, simplify and scale.
  • Collaborative by nature, with a strong bias toward partnership and shared ownership.

We value lived experience, so if you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply even if you feel your skills don't perfectly align with those listed.

What You’ll Earn:

This role offers a salary range of $125,000 to $169,350 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.

***Posted until filled***

Why You’ll Love Working Here:
