Cafe Operations Manager
Unique Slow Rise Bakery & Cafe is looking for an experienced operations manager who is passionate about food, hospitality and guest experience to join its team this Spring 2026.
We are a Squamish, BC based bakery & cafe opening up a new location in the heart of Downtown Squamish. We are looking to bring on a manager that has extensive experience in Hospitality, Food and Beverage operations leadership. You will be an integral part of the team’s success as you will be the main leader driving and implementing process, systems and the development of our team. You will be working directly with the founders of the cafe and have strong mentorship exposure as the owners are heavily involved in the operations of the business.

Location: Downtown Squamish - 2nd Avenue
Employment type: Full-time. Approx. 36 - 40 hours a week
Start Date: Spring 2026 (depending on building of our new cafe)
Pay + Benefits:
- $22 - $26 per hour + tips during cafe shifts

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily café operations: staffing, service flow, opening/closing procedures.
- Train and schedule front-of-house team; act as first-line coach and mentor.
- Manage POS operations, cash handling, and end-of-day reconciliation.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and compliance with local regulations.
- Coordinate with suppliers; monitor inventory and place orders to maintain stock.
- Resolve customer issues and lead service recovery during shifts.
- Maintain operational documentation and implement process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years supervisory/management experience in hospitality or food service.
- Strong scheduling, shift coordination, and staff-training experience.
- Proven POS and cash-handling experience.
- Knowledge of food safety and workplace compliance.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Preferred (nice-to-have)
- Barista/espresso skills or willingness to train.
- Basic inventory and supplier coordination experience.
- Experience in high-volume or fine-dining service environments.
- Certification in FoodSafe (can provide training or certification to the right candidate)
Physical requirements
- Ability to lift up to 20 - 30lbs
- Job requires standing for long periods at a time
Language requirements
Ability to communicate in English required.
