Within the Correctional Services core business area there are two programs: community corrections and correctional facilities. Each of these program areas is broken down into closely related activities that have a specific impact on the program's target group.

The Sentence Administrator also inputs and keeps information relating to individuals in custody in the Justice Enterprise Information Network (JEIN). This includes loss of remission, levels of misconduct, temporary absences, court orders and forms. The incumbent interprets warrants and other court orders, and calculates sentences for each individual in custody, using practices outlined in policy and procedures and following orders as outlined in various court documents. The Sentence Administrator maintains regular communication with video court staff, Court Services, Admission & Discharge staff, Justice Centre and Sheriff Services staff and facility management to ensure all parties are aware of potentially high-risk situations; performs information searches and prepares reports as necessary.

You have related experience in Corrections, Court Services, policing, or experience working in a law office. An acceptable equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Experience in accounting and research and analysis will also be considered. You have experience and competency in typing, word processing, and other standard computer applications as required.
