ABSA is seeking a Vice President, People & Corporate Services to provide enterprise-wide leadership across People & Culture (Human Resources), Administration, Client Support Services, and Corporate Communications.
This executive role is central to strengthening ABSA’s organizational capacity, operational reliability, and culture—ensuring the organization remains a trusted, modern, and responsive regulator. Guided by our values and strategic plan, the Vice President fosters an engaged workforce, delivers high-quality internal services, and advances clear, purposeful communication with employees and stakeholders.
The Role
Location: Edmonton or Calgary (with hybrid work eligibility)
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Vice President, People & Corporate Services will:
People & Culture
- Lead and execute the enterprise People & Culture strategy aligned to corporate objectives and budgets
- Champion culture, engagement, wellness, recognition, and inclusion initiatives
- Oversee talent management, performance systems, learning, and leadership development
- Provide executive oversight of compensation, benefits, pension, and workforce mobility programs
- Serve as a trusted advisor on investigations, Human Rights matters, and labour relations
- Lead people-side due diligence and integration during organizational change
- Sponsor HRIS/ERP enablement and people analytics initiatives
Administration & Client / Organizational Support
- Provide enterprise-wide leadership for administrative support to technical services and corporate departments.
- Ensure administrative operations align with the corporate quality management system and procedures.
- Oversee office operations, budgeting, records management, procurement support, and related services.
Corporate Communications
- Lead the internal and external communications strategy to strengthen organizational reputation and visibility
- Oversee media relations, issues management, web presence, and corporate publications
- Contribute to corporate strategy, business planning, and organizational modernization
- Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and the QMS across HR, Administration, and Communications
What You Bring
Experience & Expertise
- Senior-level HR leadership with an enterprise-wide scope
- Proven experience leading Administration/Corporate Services and Communications functions
- Demonstrated success in culture building, employee engagement, organizational development, and change leadership
- Expertise across rewards, talent management, HR operations, investigations, and labour relations
- Hands‑on experience with ERP/HRIS enablement
- Strong understanding of managing administrative services within a Quality Management System
- Experience developing and executing communications strategies
Education & Credentials
- Post‑secondary education in a related field
- CHRP/CPHR or other equivalent professional designation preferred
