The National Events Manager (12-month contract) is responsible for leading the strategy, planning, and execution of the industry’s highest quality consumer, trade, and media events with the goal of driving sales, creating positive brand awareness and affinity with all key audiences (customers, consumers, media, etc.), and building Mark Anthony’s profile as Canada’s premier alcohol beverage company..
What you'll do:
- Prepare and present detailed proposals for event participation to Sales, Brand, Trade, and Partnership teams, including determining event budgets and execution plans
- Maintain the annual event calendar and communicate updates internally and externally to all stakeholders
- Develop and execute robust event plans to ensure all events are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest professional standards
- Negotiate vendor contracts and manage all event logistics including décor, catering, entertainment, transportation, staffing, invitations, audio-visual, and insurance
- Develop and distribute event collateral such as booklets, order forms, branded promotional materials, wine cards, menus, and POS materials
- Assess event performance and prepare post‑event reports evaluating ROI, key wins, key losses, and opportunities for improvement
- Stay informed of in‑trade activities including pricing, programming, and route‑to‑market priorities, and align event plans accordingly
What you have:
- 5+ years of event management experience, preferably in a corporate in‑house or agency environment
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives in a fast‑paced environment
- Proven experience collaborating with multiple cross‑functional stakeholders
- Experience creating basic event collateral such as invitations and signage
- A creative, experiential event mindset with strong awareness of trends in events and activations
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
- Prior experience in a leadership capacity is considered an asset
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and process driven with strong communication skills
